Could this be something for you?
UK Young Artists is working in partnership with Porthmeor Studios to offer a micro-residency to young people aged 18-30 from across the UK. Over four days the participants will immerse themselves in the history and culture of St Ives and undertake a range of activities with local and international artists and curators. Creatives of all persuasions are encouraged to apply – fine art to dance, music to poetry, photography to anthropology, philosophy, geography and architecture.
Those selected for the weekender will have the chance to collaborate with artists from all over the country and spend time making work at the Grade II listed Porthmeor Studios, which has previously been home to artists such as Patrick Heron, Julius Olsson, Ben Nicholson and Francis Bacon.
Michelle Bowen, Director of UK Young Artists said; “The Cornish Weekender in partnership with Porthmeor Studios is an excellent opportunity for young creatives to develop and expand their practice. St Ives has a rich cultural history and has been inspiring artists for over a century and we are looking forward to selecting some of the best young artists from all over the UK to experience the prestigious Porthmeor Studios and the inspiring St Ives.”
The deadline for applications is Monday 26 February, find out more by visiting ukyoungartists.co.uk!
