You get to: make great films, work with professional filmmakers, be part of a crew and make good friends, gain skills and confidence and find out how to get into working in film.

This is the 7th BFI Film Academy Bristol at Watershed and Bristol Old Vic Theatre School film and TV department (BOVTV) and the feedback from participants is that they have a great time, learn loads, make good friends and are inspired to find pathways into the screen industries that they wouldn’t have thought they could do before!

They are supported to create a portfolio to gain an industry recognised qualification devised by Creative Skillset and the BFI in ‘Preparing to work in the Film Industry’.

Its a 12 week evening and weekend term time course running December to March.

At a time where the arts and creativity seem absent from the national curriculum, RIO works on behalf of Arts Council England in the South West to connect organisations all across the region, supporting them to deliver excellent cultural education for children and young people.
