Bristol Old Vic RE:SOURCES CPD Session

Dec 11, 2019

RE:SOURCES CPD Session | 10th Feb, 3:00pm – 5:00pm | Free Entry

To celebrate the launch of their new online heritage resources, Bristol Old Vic are hosting a CPD session for KS2 educators. Led by Michael Gorley, Historic England’s Local Heritage Education Manager for the South-West, the session will focus on using primary sources in innovative ways when delivering the history curriculum. As the oldest continually working theatre in the English-speaking world, they have over 250 years of fascinating sources to share.

There will be a particular emphasis on the following parts of the KS2 curriculum: a depth study linked to one of the British areas of study listed in the curriculum, a study over time tracing how several aspects of national history are reflected in the locality (this can go beyond 1066), and a study of an aspect of history or a site dating from a period beyond 1066 that is significant in the locality. The talk will therefore, focus on this.

The fun, interactive and informal two-hour session will also include a backstage tour of the building and lots of tea, coffee and biscuits!
