Wanted! Young Journalists for G7 News Hub
Are you aged 12-18 with an interest in the news? Would you enjoy learning how to sniff out a good story and being the first to tell it to the world?
The Writers’ Block will be running a Young People’s News Hub in Falmouth during the G7 summit 11th-13th June and they need keen writers, confident interviewers and fast thinkers. You could be one of them! The deadline for applying is 30th April and you can find out more on their webiste here.
Call Out For Emerging Children’s Writers
The Writers’ Block’s first Writers’ Room of 2021 is focussed on writing for very young children and will take place 25th – 27th May 2021. It will be led by children’s author and publisher Craig Barr Green.
They are seeking 3 emerging children’s writers who are interested in creating work for our early years’ Little Story Seekers groups, aged 2-5 years old. These are stories to be told, rather than picture books, possibly using visual props, paintings etc. Find out more here!
Young Writers’ Master Class
The Writers’ Bock are offering monthly sessions for young people who are brimming with ideas and stories and want to share them with like-minded, friendly young writers and readers. The first two sessions will be online and the final session will be in-person at Kresen Kernow. Sign up for one or all, each month will have a different theme. £5 per session.
