Cultural Education in Cornwall

Cultural Education in Cornwall

Vibrant, distinct, creative, culture flourishes across Cornwall, from the world renowned visual art of West Cornwall; to the theatre of Kneehigh and Wildworks; the heritage of the Cornish diaspora; innovation at the Eden Project; and specific local feasts. Cultural education is at the heart of much of this work, in and out of schools, with many young people undertaking the Arts Award to recognize their achievements.

The creative industries are one of the key growth sectors, with digital arts and technology offering particular opportunities in rural and isolated areas.

For more information on the discussions to establish a Cultural Education Partnership in Cornwall please contact Lindsey Hall at lindsey.hall@realideas.org

Useful resources

There are some really interesting tools and data sets which are freely available – including the Arts Council’s ‘cultural education data toolkit’ – along with a range of other databases focussed on cost of interventions for children and young people, disadvantage, health and education.
