Cultural Education in Torbay

The Torbay Culture Board is driving the development of the cultural education partnership in Torbay.

Following on from the Torbay cultural conference in October 2015, key partners are developing the next steps of the education strand of the culture board. We are exploring some key opportunities to develop exciting collaborations with Torbay Teaching School Alliance, as well as looking at how cultural education can benefit from the potential investment connected to the coastal revival funding and the public sector innovations happening in The Bay. For more information on the Torbay Cultural Education Partnership please contact Martin Thomas at culture@tda.uk.net

The Youth Cultural Partnership continues to deliberate its role going forward and there is clear impetus to ensure that the YCP and the Culture Board are better connected. Next steps are to explore how a CEP can best be established in Torbay, given the fragile structure of the YCP.

Useful resources

There are some really interesting tools and data sets which are freely available – including the Arts Council’s ‘cultural education data toolkit’ – along with a range of other databases focussed on cost of interventions for children and young people, disadvantage, health and education.

You can take a look at these resources using the links below:
