Support and Development
Support and Development
Through our bridge function, we offer a range of intensive and targeted support to organisations in the South West working in arts and culture, in education, or with young people in other settings – all subsidised by Arts Council England.
Our in-depth programmes of support offer expert consultancy support across a range of areas including cultural education innovation, impact and sustainability to innovation around Arts Award and Artsmark.
If our in-depth programme of support resonates with you and you’d like to find out more, please get in touch by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 08458 621288.
Working intensively with us, we can support you to make a real difference to the way you work and to your cultural offer for children and young people.
Using our expertise around social enterprise, impact, business development and our practice to working with children and young people, we support organisations across the education and culture sectors to create further value. This support will consist of mostly face to face consultancy from RIO’s expert team but could also include bespoke training and remote support too.
We will also help organisations on the programme to consider new investment, to become more sustainable and resilient, to embed the Arts Council’s Quality Principles and to maximise their impact on children and young people. We’re also keen to support organisations to embed Arts Award and Artsmark across their portfolio of activity.

Supporting the Cultural Education Challenge: Local Cultural Education Partnerships & Youth Arts Places.
RIO will continue to help deliver ACE’s Cultural Education Challenge across the South West by collaborating with, supporting and acting as a critical friend to existing Local Cultural Education Partnerships.
In addition, over the next four years, RIO will provide a focused package of support in ‘hyperlocal’ geographic locations or ‘Youth Arts Places’ across areas of high deprivation across the South West.
Youth Arts Place activity will be linked to and support appropriate Local Education Partnership priorities to create concrete outcomes for children and young people in the region.
This offer will consist of intensive, time-bound ‘bursts’ of RIO consultancy support aimed to cement and embed cultural education outcomes across selected locations. A range of benefits are available to Youth Arts Places such as linking to wider Cultural Education Partnership conversations in relevant local authorities, access to a range of RIO resources, media assets and social enterprise support; discounts on Arts Award training through to marketing support and appearing on RIO’s Youth Arts Place Hall of Fame. All designed to galvanise and amplify new and existing cultural education activity.
